Yagi Antennas

Yagi Antennas

A Yagi antenna is a directional antenna formally known as a Yagi-Uda array.  Yagi antennas consist of a driven element commonly a dipole or folded dipnly called a reflector.  The reflector can have one or more directors.   It is common the Yagi-Uda arole and a parasitic element commoray to be fully enclosed as the one pictured above is

The Yagi and other highly directional antennas have a high gain and are commonly referred to as “beam antennas.” Yagi antennas can only achieve high gain over a narrow bandwidth due to is unque design.  Yagi antennas will work well in warehousing and manufacuring environments and can be built for either indoor or outdoor use.

See Wikipedia for more information

BCI can provide a wide variety of yagi antennas for wireless applications.  As there are many options for different needs we have selected a commonly used antenna to represent this category.

2.4 GHz 13.5 dBI Yagi Antenna

The featured harware is a completely enclosed 16 element Yagi antenna.  It was designed for use as a bridge antenna between two networks or for point to point communications.  It can be used for WLAN networks either indoors or outdoors.  This antenna is typically mounted on amast and is vertically polarized.

The specifications for this model are attached at the bottom of this page.  There is also an antenna guide provided by Motorola.  It is important to select the proper hardware for a wireless installation. Companies that have contacted BCI for a wireless site survey and hardware recommendations have achieved successful installation and coverage.  Many companies have returned to BCI for addional wireless services and referred other companies.

A highly trained and experienced engineer is a valuable resource and will help to effectively and efficiently set up a wireless infrastructure for warehousing and manufacturing facilities.  BCI’s engineering team has successfully installed wireless infrastructures in all 50 United States and other countries such as Mexico, Canada, Germany, and Ireland.
